“Remember those in perennial fast, Constantly in hunger and deprivation,
Share with the poor, orphans and the destitute, to make inclusive your celebration “
“When we want to help the poor, we usually offer them charity. Most often we use charity to avoid recognizing the problem and finding the solution for it. Charity becomes a way to shrug off our responsibility. But charity is no solution to poverty. Charity only perpetuates poverty by taking the initiative away from the poor. Charity allows us to go ahead with our own lives without worrying about the lives of the poor. Charity appeases our consciences.”
“I try not to speak about all the charities and people I help, because I believe we can only be truly generous when we expect nothing in return. I don't know how many millions I'll make, so I have to give some back to charity. God blesses me with the money, but only if I give some away.”
“Haji Muhammad Mohsin scattered the light of hope to the distressed people with his trusted property. No such other wealthy person is found, in that period, so kind and generous like him who could donated all his property for humanitarian services. It is apt to regard him as the greatest philanthropist in 18th Century Colonial Bengal. His contribution is even alive till now in his institutions and various services fed by his trusted property. The future generation should study him well to be inspired for humanitarian services for the distressed”
