Dr. Jahangir Md. Sarwar completed his bachelor degree (MBBS) on 1992 from Mymensingh Medical College under Dhaka University and achieved his fellowship in Surgery (FCPS) on 2003 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

During the period of 1993 – 1998 he received training in Cardiovascular Surgery in NICVD, Dhaka and Urology in BIRDEM, Dhaka.  Dr. Sarwar joined Government service on 1999 and served as Medical Officer, Registrar, Resident Surgeon, Junior Consultant, Senior Consultant in different Medical College hospitals and district level hospitals.  Currently he has been working in Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute & Hospital, Dhaka as an Associate Professor (Surgery) in the Department of Surgical Gastro-enterology. Concurrently engaged in his private practice in Samorita Hospital, one of the most renowned private hospitals in Bangladesh.

He is one of the pioneers of Minimal Invasive Laser Surgeries (Percutaneous laser disc decompression-PLDD) and other Laser surgical procedures in Bangladesh for prolapsed intervertebral disc and other orthopedic conditions since 2007. Dr. Sarwar has been Leading the First-ever Stem Cell Research in Bangladesh for management of CKD and other chronic diseases since 2018.

Dr. Sarwar got married to Dr. Sabira Hossain on 1997 and they are blessed with two lovely daughters, the elder one has finished her graduation in Computer Science Engineering while the younger one is studying BBA in IBA, Dhaka University.
