Dr. Rahman was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He earned his undergraduate degree from Beijing Medical University in China in 1992. He returned to Bangladesh to complete his one-year internship at Mymensingh Medical College. He moved to the United States and completed his residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York in 2010. Currently, he is practicing Internal Medicine at UF Health Leesburg Hospital, in Florida, USA. His goal is to provide personalized care to geriatric populations with empathy and compassion. Additionally, Dr. Rahman has been serving as clinical assistant professor of Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Rahman is also involved with many charitable organizations, including many with ties to Bangladesh. Since becoming President of the Bangladesh Medical Association of North America, Florida (BMANA-FL), he has assisted many Bangladeshi Medical Graduates in finding residencies in their specialty of choice. Additionally, he established a non-profit healthcare center in his home village of Feni, called MD Mofizur Rahman Health Center. Dr. Rahman is committed to support rural and underprivileged populations in Bangladesh and beyond.
