Dr Kismat Ara trained at the Mymenshing Medical College, Mymenshing, under Dhaka university, Bangladesh where she qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1994 and Post graduate degree in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2005. She moved to Maldives, and joined as a Consultant Gynecologist at a Regional Hospital under MOH. .

Dr. Kismat Ara is a member of number of professional societies and associations, including the Bangladesh Society of Gynecology. She has published widely in the field of gynecology and has been a speaker at regional, national and international meetings.
